Big game. Big buzz. Big crowd.
The No. 22-ranked University of Cincinnati men’s basketball program hopes for a sellout crowd of 13,176 at Fifth Third Arena on Thursday night, when SMU visits the Bearcats in a marquee American Athletic Conference game (9 p.m., ESPN).
“SMU has another great team,” UC coach Mick Cronin said. “We would love to see a sellout of Bearcats fans supporting our team.”
UC (13-2, 3-0 AAC) has won six consecutive games. SMU (14-3, 4-0 AAC) is even hotter, having won 10 straight games.
The Bearcats were picked to win the AAC in a preseason poll of league coaches, and SMU was voted third.
