The status of one of Cincinnati football's best players is in doubt.
Junior safety James Wiggins "tweaked his knee," Monday, Bearcats' coach Luke Fickell said Tuesday. UC does not yet know Wiggins' status for Thursday's season-opener against UCLA in Nippert Stadium. An updated is expected by Wednesday, Fickell said.
The 6-foot, 205-pound had 54 total tackles and four interceptions last season.
UC listed Wiggins and Darrick Forrest as the starters at safety on the depth chart released earlier this week.
