CINCINNATI - Despite spending several early mornings in the winter in mud, amid sleet and little snow, the University of Cincinnati football team began spring practice Monday in the comfort of the Sheakley Athletic Center bubble.

One thing for sure in the first of 15 allotted workouts (counting the Spring Game) is the intensity has ramped up under new head coach Luke Fickell and eyes and ears are everywhere. The spring work days begin at 5 a.m. and if the Bearcats are late to a drill, meeting, visit to the athletic trainer or lunch, it is noted.
