The latest Associated Press men's college basketball poll barely knocked the University of Cincinnati out after Sunday's 65-58 American Athletic Conference loss at Houston.
UC dropped to No. 26 topping the "also receiving votes" category. In the AP, Iowa State, Maryland and Buffalo occupied spots 23-25. Tennessee remains No. 1, followed by Duke, Gonzaga, Virginia and Kentucky.
UC's Sunday opponent Houston went from 12th to 9th.
Others nearby: Michigan is No. 6, Michigan State 11th, Purdue 12th and Louisville 16th.
The USA TODAY Coaches poll also had the Bearcats just one back at No.
