Former Cincinnati Bearcats standout Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs broke the National Football League record for most receiving yards in a season by a tight end - and held that record for less than one hour.
On a 25-yard catch early in the fourth quarter of the Chiefs' win Sunday against the Oakland Raiders, Kelce surpassed the mark of 1,327 yards established in 2011 by the New England Patriots' Rob Gronkowski and finished his season with 1,336 yards.
A short time later, San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle caught a 43-yard touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter of a loss to the Los Angeles Rams to pass Kelce and set a new record of 1,377 yards.
