Luke Fickell is delaying his announcement regarding the University of Cincinnati starting quarterback job, partially because of an injury to backup QB Ross Trail. Trail, however, may be running out of time.
Trail and presumed starter Hayden Moore have been dueling for the job in practice, except that Trail (abdominal strain) has not been practicing much lately.
Sophomore Trail was in uniform again Tuesday as inclement weather forced UC indoors to its practice bubble, but Trail mostly watched as junior Moore, redshirt freshman Jake Sopko and true freshman Desmond Ridder did their QB things.
