Cincinnati Bearcats head coach Luke Fickell interviewed for the Michigan State Spartans' head coaching vacancy on Sunday but decided to stay at UC.
The 46-year-old Fickell is 26-13 in three seasons with the Bearcats.
Mark Dantonio, the Spartans' head coach for 13 seasons and UC's head coach from 2004 to 2006 before he took the job at MSU, announced his retirement last week.
