NEWPORT, Rhode Island — UCF was picked to win the American Athletic Conference for a third consecutive year by the media in a preseason poll revealed Tuesday.

The Knights (19 first-place votes) haven't lost an American game — or any regular-season contest — since 2016 but will be without injured star quarterback McKenzie Milton. Darriel Mack Jr., Milton's replacement last season, suffered a broken ankle earlier this month.

If UCF is to be surpassed, the Cincinnati Bearcats are among the favorites to do it.
