MEMPHIS - Following Houston's scheduled run with the hometown Memphis Tigers, the University of Cincinnati will square off in the second American Athletic Conference semifinal Saturday at 5 p.m. EST.
Their opponent will be Wichita State who sent the No. 3 seed Temple Owls home early, 80-74. UC and the Shockers will meet for a third time now.
The Bearcats reached the semis by overcoming an eight-point deficit in the first half of their quarterfinal game with SMU and winning by eight, 82-74. UC grabbed momentum on a shot at the halftime buzzer by Justin Jenifer. The 3-pointer swished through the net and UC led 40-38.
