UC's Mick Cronin, Trevon Scott, Nysier Brooks on AAC semi win, facing Houston again
MEMPHIS - For a second straight season, the University of Cincinnati will take on the University of Houston in the American Athletic Conference championship game. The Bearcats earned the right by holding off Wichita State 66-63 Saturday evening at FedEx Forum.
Despite foul trouble from Nysier Brooks and Jarron Cumberland, the Bearcats were able to hold the Shockers to 35.8 percent shooting and they outrebounded them 42-33. In just 22:39 of playing time, Brooks had 13 points and nine rebounds. Trevon Scott was a workhorse again with 12 points and eight rebounds and Jarron Cumberland sat nearly 12 minutes due to foul trouble but finished with 11 points on a rough shooting night of 3-for-16.
