The highlight of the announcement is that UC will host Houston on ESPN in front of a national audience – 7:30 kick, and probably a blackout at Nippert. This doesn’t come as a surprise, but some AAC Thursday games in years past have been bumped to ESPN2 or U to make way for higher profile games, so it’s a good thing that UC-UH is staying on “The Uno,” which obviously gets far more casual viewership and generates more exposure. Once again, UC has been dealt an early season AAC game that will have huge implications on the league title race.
