John Calipari highest-paid college basketball coach, Mick Cronin and Chris Mack make list

As the debate surrounding college athletes' rights to earn money based off their own name, image and likeness moves from the court of public opinion to more than half of the states' legislative bodies, what is not up for argument is that plenty of dough exists for the top coaches in men's college basketball.

Kentucky Wildcats coach John Calipari remained atop the list by raking in total compensation of $8,158,000, according to the USA TODAY Sports database.
