FAIRFIELD - Just past Jungle Jim's on Route 4 in Fairfield there are a couple other monstrous figures prowling about the football field. Fairfield High School plays a little further up the road, and the Division I bodies stick out upon first glance.
Weighing in at a combined 560 pounds, seniors Malik Vann and Jack Carman can frighten your average, run-of-the-mill prep tackler into taking a knee at their presence. Vann is a linebacker/defensive end for Jason Krause, while across from him is a young man who looks like a bulldozer in cleats in Carman.
