Despite Marshall Trouble, UC Rises in AP Poll

Cincinnati did not exactly look like a ranked powerhouse against Marshall last Thursday. The Bearcats needed overtime and heroic performances from Gary Clark, Jacob Evans and Troy Caupain (who hit the winning shot) to fend off the Thundering Herd, who may be a bit better than their 7-5 record indicates at least offensively. They set a UC opponent record for three-pointers and are ranked No. 41 in adjusted offensive efficiency according to KenPom.

But enough about Marshall, UC is now 10-2 overall as nothing stands in its way before American Athletic Conference play, which opens on Wednesday night at Temple.
