On a picture perfect Saturday afternoon the Cincinnati Bearcats hit the field at the Sheakley Athletics Facility for their 2016 Spring Game, the culmination of several practices over the last month.
Approaching this year’s scrimmage, I honestly didn’t know what to expect out of the offense and defense. Last year was bound to be a shootout, with the Bearcats heading into their third season under the same offensive staff led by Eddie Gran. So the 38-37 final score with both squads rolling up over 1,000 yards of total offense wasn’t exactly surprising, albeit a foreshadowing of future shootouts in the 2015 season to come.
