WEST HARRISON, INDIANA - On a day the University of Cincinnati football team brought the heat on the practice fields of Camp Higher Ground, the players were rewarded.
In the post-practice huddle with temperatures in the uppers 80s and sweat rolling down the cheeks of anyone not in shade, three words brought cheers to the Bearcats clad in white and black jerseys.
Ice cream truck.
On cue, a white truck came driving up near the area where players lounge in ice-cold tubs for recovery after steamy practices. Just as the calliope music entices young children to chase such trucks on summer streets, the burly Bearcats swarmed around the vendor as if Earth's last cones were being served.
