Caupain, Bearcats endure emotional end

SACRAMENTO – Words were tough to come by inside a stoic Cincinnati Bearcats locker room off the hallways of the Golden 1 Center. Jerseys and towels draped over the heads of players digesting the 79-67 loss to UCLA on Sunday.

Troy Caupain maneuvered through the details of missed assignments, the skill of Bruins' star Lonzo Ball and the vast difference between a first half played to perfection and second half avalanche.

Those details felt like minutiae in this moment, though. All that mattered was the one word the school’s all-time assist leader had zero problems snapping off when asked what he’ll remember about his Bearcats.
