Former University of Cincinnati second baseman and outfielder Ian Happ has been putting up monster numbers in his second season as a professional, taking Cubs Minor-League Player of the Month honors for June, and earning himself a promotion to from Class-A Advanced Myrtle Beach to Class-AA Tennessee.
After putting up respectable numbers in his first pro season (.259, 9 HR, 33 RBI in 67 total games at Class-A Short Season and Class-A Full Season), Happ has been tearing the cover off the ball so far this year. He hit .296 with 7 HR and 42 RBI in 69 games with Myrtle Beach, and was named a Carolina League All-Star.
