CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — Practice had just concluded and seven of the Penguins' forwards sat in a cramped locker room at the Florida Panthers' practice facility.
Tom Kuhnhackl had a question.
“Hey everyone,” he said. “Who wants Gatorade?”
Seven hands were raised.
“OK,” he said. “I'll be right back.”
Like a waiter in the finest restaurant in South Beach, Kuhnhackl returned a moment later, seven Gatorades in hand, passing them out to each appreciative teammate.
The guy doesn't mind doing the dirty work.
Kuhnhackl, one season removed from an injury-plagued time that saw him in the press box more than in uniform, has rediscovered his role as penalty killing ace for the Penguins.
