Breaking down the Chicago White Sox 2020 schedule, beginning with a July 24 opener at home against the Twins

The Chicago White Sox were slated to have their earliest opening day ever March 26 against the Kansas City Royals before the coronavirus pandemic put the game on pause.

Major League Baseball released the revised 60-game schedule Monday, and the Sox will be tested right off the bat, opening the season July 24 against the Minnesota Twins at 7:10 p.m. at Guaranteed Rate Field.

“It’s going to be more of a sprint,” Sox starting pitcher Dylan Cease said of the shortened season. “It’s probably going to feel kind of close to playoff baseball because every game is obviously going to be more important with the fact that the season is shorter.
