Although Murray State’s cinderella run has come to a halt, nobody can deny Ja Morant is a star in the making. In the two games he played in the tournament, Morant averaged 22.5 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds, including leading Murray State to a stunning upset over the fifth-seeded Marquette. If he wasn’t already, Ja is certainly now at the forefront of the Chicago Bulls‘ radar.
After playing a weak Ohio Valley Conference schedule, many doubted if Morant had the talent to play so well against tougher competition. A dominating 36-point performance in the conference finals against Belmont and a pair of games in the NCAA tournament have since silenced the doubters.
