Chicago Bulls: Luke Kornet surgery means a bigger role for Daniel Gafford

A reported surgery on a sinus obstruction that the Chicago Bulls recently signed former New York Knicks center Luke Kornet underwent on Nov. 18 could thin out the depth in the frontcourt rotation for the time being to an even greater degree than it is now. Kornet was assumed to take on the backup center duties behind second-year big man Wendell Carter Jr. this season.

As one of the three big offseason free agent signings the Bulls made that were supposed to upgrade this roster for head coach Jim Boylen through and through, Kornet hasn’t lived up to the billing thus far.
