The Blackhawks recalled defenseman Gustav Forsling from the AHL and retroactively placed Marcus Kruger on injured reserve to Nov. 9, the team announced Tuesday. Forsling is the first callup from Rockford for head coach Jeremy Colliton.
Forsling recorded two assists in five games with the Rockford IceHogs after he was cleared to play following his rehab from offseason surgery on his right wrist. The left-handed defenseman scored three goals and 13 points in 41 games with the Blackhawks last season and five points (two goals, three assists) in 18 AHL contests with Rockford.
