Bears injury report: RB David Montgomery has ankle problem

The Bears haven’t put Danny Trevathan on injured reserve — yet — and are monitoring the status of two injured players on the other side of the ball.

Two offensive starters were hampered at practice Wednesday. One was a surprise: rookie running back David Montgomery was limited because of an ankle injury. Head coach Matt Nagy did not mention Montgomery — who had 17 carries for 60 yards against the Lions — when he spoke before practice.

Tight end Trey Burton, meanwhile, sat out practice, three days after injuring his calf Sunday. Burton hasn’t made a catch in either of his past two games, continuing a season that’s been nothing less than a massive disappointment.
