Hornets swap picks with Clippers, acquire Miles Bridges with 12th overall pick

After a last second trade, the Charlotte Hornets ended up with forward Miles Bridges out of Michigan State.

The Hornets traded the 11th pick and the rights to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to the Los Angeles Clippers, who selected Bridges 12th overall. The Hornets also received two future second round picks.

Bridges spent two seasons at Michigan State. He averaged 17.1 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game last season, shooting 45.7 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from 3.

He is described as one of the best athletes and dunkers in the draft, and is a great rebounder for the position.
