Panthers Place TE Greg Olsen On Injured Reserve

The Carolina Panthers announced Tuesday that they’ve officially placed TE Greg Olsen on injured reserve with a broken foot.

This shouldn’t come as a big surprise, considering that Olsen is expected to miss 6-8 weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a broken foot.

The Panthers could still bring Olsen back from injured reserve later on in the year, but this move will cost him the next eight games.

Olsen was once considering holding out in order to secure a contract that would pay him among the top tight ends in the NFL, but he decided against skipping training camp and reported to the team.
