Darling leads Carolina Hurricanes to 2-1 win over Calgary Flames

The Carolina Hurricanes were underdogs against the Calgary Flames coming off a huge 5-3 win over the Edmonton Oilers. Carolina controlled the pace of play for of the game as they had six powerplays. However, they were not able to convert on as many as they should have.

Jeff Skinner got on the board first for the Canes with a rocket of a slapper that got past Calgary goalie Mike Smith. It was Skinner’s third goal of the season. Yet, it was the first time that the Canes, as a team, scored two or more goals when Skinner got on the board as well.
