Carolina Hurricanes looked like a Playoff team vs. Oilers

The Carolina Hurricanes notched a massive 5-3 victory over the Edmonton Oilers for the first road win over the 2017-18 campaign. After losing their first road contest of the year, against the Winnipeg Jets, Carolina needed a big response. That’s exactly what they got by beating the Oilers at Rogers Arena on Oct. 17.

Cam Ward got his first start of the season, making 48 saves on 51 shots. If Ward continues to play at that level between the pipes, Carolina will be in a very good goaltending situation. Scott Darling has been solid so far in his three starts as well.
