The backup quarterback position has been one that has been in dire need of addressing for the Buffalo Bills. With their fifth-round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, they did exactly that, selecting Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm.
The immediate reaction to this was selection was divided. Some fans saw this selection as the end of Josh Allen, some saw it was a waste of a pick and the rest were left dumbfounded that the Bills would even draft a quarterback. Once cooler heads prevailed and enough time has passed to the point where the discussion about Fromm replacing Allen has been completely squashed, we have come to learn that this pick was more about helping Allen rather than bringing him competition.
