Rodions Kurucs, the Nets’ second-round draft pick, said Friday he hopes to play alongside countryman Kristaps Porzingis on the Latvian national team, and plans to kick his butt when Brooklyn faces the Knicks.
“I don’t know him that much. We spoke some time. I didn’t play with him [for Latvia] … I hope to play with him some day on the national team,” said Kurucs, who will face off against Porzingis regularly as a Net. “Sure, and beat his ass.”
The Nets’ new Latvian isn’t a unicorn like Porzingis, but the team is hoping he’s a steal.
