Nic Claxton giving Nets glimpse of future in DeAndre Jordan’s absence

With DeAndre Jordan sidelined, Nic Claxton showed that backup center spot is in good hands until the veteran returns.

With a strong game Saturday against NBA-leading Milwaukee, the rookie gave a glimpse of why the Nets are so high on him.

“He’s gonna be really good in this league,” Kenny Atkinson said. “He’s got something extra. He’s a really fast athlete. He’s got great hands. He’s a quick reactor. Quick jumper. He’s got a knack for the game. Great instincts. And then he plays incredibly hard.

“He’s working on his strength.
