Nets’ Kyrie Irving sitting out Knicks game to mourn Kobe Bryant

Nets superstar Kyrie Irving is sitting out Sunday’s game against the Knicks to mourn the death of NBA legend Kobe Bryant.

Irving left Madison Square Garden after learning the 41-year-old Bryant was killed in a private helicopter crash earlier in the day, according to multiple reports.

One of Bryant’s four daughters, 13-year-old Gianna, also was killed. Another parent and child also died, as the four were traveling to a basketball facility in California.

There were no survivors in the crash, which occurred amid foggy conditions.

Irving reportedly was close with Bryant.

Many members of the sports world, fans and celebrities paid tribute to Bryant following the shocking news.
