Nets blow huge lead in heartbreaking loss to Jazz

SALT LAKE CITY — The Nets loss Sunday in Phoenix was an embarrassment. Tuesday’s defeat in Utah was a heartbreaker.

Brooklyn fixed its first-quarter woes, shored up its defense, but still blew a big lead and fell 119-114 to the Jazz at Vivent Smart Home Arena.

After getting blown out by the Suns two days earlier, the Nets (4-6) squandered a 15-point third quarter lead this time, and a 112-110 edge with two minutes to play.

They let the Jazz close on a 9-2 run, guard Donovan Mitchell (game-high 30 points) hitting a floater to tie it and center Rudy Gobert (18 points, 15 rebounds) a layup for the lead.
