‘That was something special to me’: Eduardo Rodriguez claims win in return to Fenway Park

If Eduardo Rodriguez felt any particularly overwhelming emotions in his first start at Fenway Park since 2019, Red Sox manager Alex Cora didn’t see them.

Rodriguez was forced to miss last season as he dealt with a case of myocarditis brought on by COVID-19. Prior to his season-opening start on April 8, the last time he pitched was the Red Sox’s season finale in 2019.

Still, Rodríguez was pretty stoic in his Fenway Park return on Tuesday, according to Cora.

“I think he’s past the emotional side of it,” Cora said. “Not pitching last year, all that stuff.
