The Red Sox have reportedly signed the versatile fielder Kiké Hernández to a two-year contract worth $14 million and agreed on a $10 million deal for 2021 with right-handed pitcher Garrett Richards.
Hernández will likely play second base, but throughout his career, he has started games first base (11), second base (132), third base (14), shortstop (56), left field (60), center field (128), and right field (35). Hernández has a career .820 OPS against lefties.
Richards, 32 years old, has been plagued by injuries for the last five seasons, throwing a combined 198.
