CINCINATTI – Mookie Betts limped through the clubhouse last night, he hobbled to and from his locker this afternoon, and after attempting to run before batting practice, he’s been scratched from today’s lineup because of a bruise on top of his left foot.
Betts fouled a ball of his foot last night and was not moving well after his fourth-inning double.
“He was hindered by it last night in the second half of that game,” manager John Farrell said. “Woke up a little bit more sore. Went through treatment. Came out, tried to run him to get some activity, but felt it was best to give him a day to fully recover and get some additional treatment.
