Eagles Fall in Charlottesville

Charlottesville, Va. – The eighth-ranked Boston College field hockey team fell at fourth-ranked Virginia, 3-0, on Friday afternoon. The Eagles (6-3, 0-3 ACC) held the high-powered Cavaliers (8-1, 2-0 ACC) to their second-lowest goal total of the season.

Virginia came into the contest averaging 6.35 goals per game and a scoring margin of 4.88. The BC defense kept UVA under its average. The Cavs also came in leading the ACC in scores off penalty corners with 14 and the Eagles did not allow a goal on the 11 attempted in the game.

The Cavaliers got off to an early start, netting the first goal of the game in the 15th minute.
