The Big Ten has voted to cancel its football schedule for 2020, with a possible eye towards playing in the spring, the Detroit Free Press reported Monday.
The vote reportedly to cancel the season was 12-2, with Nebraska and Iowa being the only schools to vote to play football in the fall.
The decision comes in wake of the Mid-American Conference canceling its season Saturday. Speculation was abound in whether the Power 5 conferences would follow, and the Big Ten in particular was singled out due to the two conferences sharing a similar geographic footprint.
