BRIGHTON, Mass. – Syracuse earned a pair of victories to start the four-game series at Boston College on Friday with a 2-1 victory in eight innings and game one and a 7-1 victory in the second game of the doubleheader.
The Orange moved to 15-9 overall and 8-6 in ACC play while BC dropped to 6-21 and 2-13 in the ACC.
In game one, Susannah Anderson pitched a complete game gem, holding the Orange to just one earned run over eight innings of work. She struck out a season-high seven.
The game was scoreless until BC broke through with a run in the fifth on a RBI triple from Ellie Mataya.
