Kevin Kurz of The Athletic: With the San Jose Sharks needing a goal in the third period, defenseman Erik Karlsson went seven and half minutes sitting on the bench in discomfort.
Coach Pete DeBoer didn’t offer much on Karlsson after the game.
“I don’t have anything for you there,” said DeBoer, when asked about Karlsson laboring on the bench.
Greg Wyshynski: Karlsson was only one the ice for 6:20 in the third period, after averaging 9:27 in the first two periods.
