YPSILANTI, Mich. - - Led by a strong effort on the outside, the Ball State women's volleyball team opened Mid-American Conference play with a 3-1 (25-21, 25-19, 22-25, 29-27) victory at Eastern Michigan's Convocation Center Friday afternoon.
Leading the charge for the Cardinals (9-5; 1-0 MAC) on offense was junior outside Brooklyn Goodsel (Corry, Pa./Corry Area) who registered a season-high 20 kills, one shy of tying her career high. It also marked the third time in her career Goodsel has smashed at least 20 kills in a match.
Also turning in a strong performance on the outside was junior Ellie Dunn (Sugar Grove, Ill.
