Ball State football season ends with a whimper

MUNCIE, Ind. — A forgettable season ended with a forgettable game. Ball State lost to Miami 28-7 on Tuesday night to close the 2017 campaign with its ninth straight loss.

Three reasons why the Red Bird Rivalry trophy will not be staying in Muncie:

1. An anemic offense

Ball State only found the end zone in the fourth quarter after trailing by 28 points when Malik Dunner ran for a 28-yard score. Jack Milas and Drew Plitt combined to complete 13 of 29 passes for just 98 yards and two interceptions.

The Cardinals had some success on the ground, rushing for 293 yards.
