MUNCIE, Ind. — There must be something about Dec. 5 that brings out the best in the Ball State men’s basketball team, because for the second straight year, it pulled out an impressive non-conference road victory.
Ball State held off Loyola 75-69 on Wednesday night in the Gentile Center, taking down the 2018 Final Four squad on hits home floor. It comes on the one-year anniversary of the Cardinals’ upset of Notre Dame.
“We’re going to see if we can get Duke or North Carolina on Dec. 5 in 2019,” Whitford said with a laugh on the postgame radio show.
