Atlanta United announced today that Josef Martinez is being placed on the league’s season ending injury list, opening a spot on the teams roster during what is expected to be a busy summer transfer window.
A club spokesperson said Martinez’s rehabilitation of a torn ACL suffered in a win against Nashville SC on February 29 is still on schedule.
According to MLS roster rules, iff a player suffers a season-ending injury, a club may place that injured player on the Season-Ending Injury List and receive roster relief (i.e., an open roster slot).
