NBA in talks with 8 teams, including Hawks, to join second ‘bubble’ scenario

The NBA has discussed a second “bubble” scenario in Chicago for the eight teams excluded from the season restart in Orlando, a person familiar with the situation confirmed to the AJC.

The proposal, which would allow for games and training camps among Atlanta, Cleveland, Detroit, New York, Chicago, Charlotte, Minnesota and Golden State, was first reported by ESPN. It is still in the works and would have to be approved by the Players Association. Those eight teams have been regularly working together to figure out offseason plans.

The Hawks would be supportive of their players getting the opportunity to play, according to a person familiar with the situation.
