Hawks re-sign Vince Carter, who will play in NBA record 22nd season

It’s official u2060— the Hawks announced Friday afternoon they have re-signed Vince Carter, eight-time All-Star, 1999 Rookie of the Year and Dunk Contest winner in 2000.

Carter, 42, will become the first player in NBA history to play in a 22nd season and, after appearing in a game in 2020, the first player in league history to play games in four decades.

Last season, appearing in 76 games for the Hawks, Carter averaged 7.4 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 17.5 minutes per game.

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
