JONESBORO, Ark. (5/13/18) – The Arkansas State baseball team dropped the series finale to Georgia Southern 4-1 Sunday afternoon at Tomlinson Stadium.
Casey Vaughan drove in the first run of the game, a two-out single in the bottom of the third inning, to put A-State (18-29, 9-18 SBC) up 1-0 early on, but the Eagles answered with four runs in the sixth inning to take a lead they would not relinquish.
The Red Wolves threatened Georgia Southern with a big inning in the first when it loaded the bases with one out, but failed push across a run after a line out and a popup got the Eagles (27-23, 16-10) out of the inning unharmed.
