NEW ORLEANS, La. (1/4/16) – Arkansas State junior guard Donte Thomas was named the Sun Belt Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for his performances dating back to Dec. 15, the league office announced Monday.
Thomas, also named the College Sports Madness SBC Player of the Week, averaged 15.8 points, 9.0 rebounds and 8.3 assists over the four-game stretch while posting the third triple-double in program history with 14 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds at South Alabama. His triple-double was the fifth in a Sun Belt Conference games since the 1998-99 season and first for A-State since Dereke Tipler had 14 points, 13 assists and 12 rebounds at Troy on Feb.
