Pittman appointed to board for AFCA

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas coach Sam Pittman will represent the SEC on the board of trustees for the American Football Coaches Association.

Pittman was elected to the board Tuesday along with West Virginia coach Neal Brown and Louisiana-Lafayette coach Billy Napier. The 22-member board includes 17 active head coaches from multiple NCAA divisions.

Each conference in the Football Bowl Subdivision has a representative on the board. Florida coach Dan Mullen previously represented the SEC.

The AFCA board of trustees formulates policy and provides direction for the AFCA, according to a press release. The organization was founded in 1922 and has more than 11,000 members.
