FAYETTEVILLE — Two days after Perfect Game left catcher Ryder Helfrick off its three preseason All-America teams earlier this month, Arkansas baseball coach Dave Van Horn made sure to mention it.
“[He’s] one of the best catchers in the country, even though Perfect Game forgot about him when they put the catchers out the other day,” Van Horn said Jan. 9. “But, you know, this is the way I look at it, you've got time to change people’s minds, so to speak.”
Helfrick was not forgotten Tuesday when D1Baseball released its preseason All-America team. Not only was Helfrick included, but he was the first-team catcher.
